Researchers from the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) are among members of a multidisciplinary team that has been recognised for securing a patent for an innovative technology titled “Process for Converting Organic Waste into Protein, Oil, and Fertiliser Using Black Soldier Fly Larvae.”

An undergraduate student from the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), Mr. Anthony A. Tepeli, has earned national recognition after securing second place in the Best Undergraduate Innovation Project category during the closing ceremony of the 11th Research and Innovation Week organised by University of Dar es Salaam.

The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) and U-Matter Tanzania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on ending violence and fostering psychological well-being across local and global communities on June 15, 2026.

The partnership unites two complementary approaches to community safety and wellness:

Maadhimisho ya mwaka huu yaliongozwa na kaulimbiu isemayo “Tuwajibike Kukijanisha Tanzania,” yenye lengo la kuhamasisha jamii na taasisi mbalimbali kushiriki kikamilifu katika uhifadhi na uboreshaji wa mazingira. Hafla hiyo ilipambwa na Mgeni Rasmi, Prof. Pendo S.

As part of her engagement with the institution, Ms. Roseanna Avento, the Global Development Manager from the University of Eastern Finland, was warmly welcomed by the College Principal, Prof. Amani Lusekelo, at his office. During their meeting, Prof. Lusekelo introduced DUCE, elaborating on its role as a premier educational institution deeply involved in driving academic excellence and impactful research.
