Dr. Julius Chiuyo is a Lecturer, Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics, Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). He holds a PhD in Physics, University of Dar es Salaam. Over 10 years of teaching at DUCE, he has been lecturing physics courses at the undergraduate level, supervising undergraduate students and engaging in community outreach. His research interests include radiation dosimetry and protection, medical imaging and environmental assessment using nuclear techniques. Published works include Dosimetric Evaluation of Intact Breast Radiotherapy in Early Stages Breast Cancer Patients using Field-in-Field and 3D-CRT Enhanced Dynamic Wedge Techniques, Determination of dose distributions by Monte-Carlo simulation of 6 MV photon beam of Varian Vitalbeam accelerator using geant4 multithreaded code and Radiation Dose to the Contralateral Breast and Effectiveness of Superflab in Dose Reduction during Treatment of Breast Cancer by Cobalt- 60 External Beam. Currently, he is supervising one student on her master’s and one PhD student of the University of Dar es Salaam.
