Biography

Dr. Silvia John Mushi is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She holds a Ph.D. in Oil and Gas Field Development Engineering from the China University of Petroleum (East China), a Master of Science in Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Science with Education (Chemistry and Biology) from the University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Mushi teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in industrial chemistry, petroleum chemistry, and organic chemistry, while also mentoring early-career researchers in applied chemistry and energy-related innovations

Dr. Mushi’s research interests span enhanced oil recovery, industrial and analytical chemistry, and sustainable materials development. She has contributed to several funded research projects, including studies on adsorbents for onboard natural gas storage
