Mr. Amani Issa Kalwani is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History, Political Science and Development Studies within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education, University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology and History and a Master of Arts in Heritage Management, both from the University of Dar es Salaam. His teaching areas include Archaeology, Oral Histories, and the Economic History of Tanzania. Amani’s research interests span Archaeology, Historical Archaeology, and Cultural Heritage Management, with a particular focus on community-centered heritage interpretation and interdisciplinary approaches to historical inquiry. He is committed to advancing heritage scholarship and education in Tanzania through collaborative research, curriculum development, and student mentorship. Their work contributes to the preservation and critical understanding of Tanzania’s cultural landscapes and historical narratives.
