Dr. Daniel Sabai Kirahi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography & Economics, Faculty of Humanities & Social sciences (FHSS) at the Dar es salaam University College of Education, a Constituent College of the University of Dar es salaam. He holds a PhD in Environmental Education from Rhodes University (South Africa) and an MSc in Urban Environmental Management from Wageningen University (Netherlands). He has worked in the field of environment since November 1999 and has participated in many local and international environmental initiatives.

Dr. Sabai has been actively involved in the UKRI /NERC (UK) financed research project titled 'Sustainable Plastics Attitudes to benefit Communities and Environments (SPACES) in Dar es Salaam and Malawi' as a Co-Researcher and Local Coordinator/PI. The SPACES project received a total sum of £ 2,927,662 and it involved 7 Universities and it phased out in March 2025. Currently, the research team is compiling, synthesizing and analyzing final data for dissemination.
