Biography

Dr. Mateng'e is a Senior Lecturer teaching Political Science, Public Administration and Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He holds a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching, research and leadership in university settings. He served as the Head of Department from October 2006 to November 2010 and from November 2017 to October 2024. In recent years, his interests have expanded to evaluation with membership in both international and local associations. The American Evaluation Association (AEA) (2022 – 2024) and Tanzania Evaluation Association (TanEA). Dr. Mateng’e has supervised several postgraduate students in these areas of his research interests. He has also served as an external examiner for PhD and Masters students for Mbarara University of Science and Technology (Uganda), University of Dodoma, Mzumbe University, and the St. Augustine University of Tanzania. Dr. Mateng'e has attended several international and local conferences.

His research interests revolve around the impact of public sector reforms on human resource management and human resource development systems in the public sector, public service delivery systems, public procurement, governance and accountability systems.
