Biography

Dr Reuben Ndimbo is a Lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literature at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), a constituent college of the University of Dar es Salaam. He teaches Linguistics, English, and Communication Skills courses to undergraduate students from diverse academic programs, including International Relations, Diplomacy, and Governance.

Dr Ndimbo holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Linguistics from the University of Dar es Salaam. His research interests span onomastics, linguistic landscape, social semiotics, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), and gender, with a particular focus on how language and visual communication construct social meanings and identities in Tanzanian contexts. His work explores how linguistic and semiotic practices in public spaces and everyday discourse reflect broader cultural values and power relations.

In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr Ndimbo serves as the Coordinator of English proficiency tests for students aspiring to study and work abroad. Beyond academia, he is a sought-after Master of Ceremony, a certified corporate trainer, public speaker, and communication coach, known for his passion for developing effective communicators and confident leaders.
