Monica Sebastian Kauky is a Tanzanian economist with a PhD in Economics and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam under DUCE Campus. Specializing in health and Labor Economics, and various aspects of economic and human capital development, her research focuses on children's nutrition and schooling outcomes, agricultural economics, food security, labor economics, welfare economics and social protection. Kauky is a seasoned development economist with expertise in household surveys, mixed-methods research, and impact evaluation, particularly through randomized controlled trials (RCTs) She is actively involved in several research networks, including the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), and the Environment for Development (EfD) initiative.
