Dr. Mtumwa Kassim Sultan is a lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literature within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Literature and specializes in Postcolonial and Cultural Studies. She completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. Her teaching areas include Modern Literary Theories, Postcolonial Literature, African Literature, African American Literature, Epics and Drama. Her research interests and scholarly works focus on transnational literature exploring themes such as migration and identity, hybridity, double consciousness, nostalgia and all kinds of transnational spaces.
