Biography

Ms. Fatina Hamidu Chang’a is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literaturewithin the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Education, with a focus on Swahili Literature and specializes in both oral and written traditions of Swahili literary expression. She completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Dar es Salaam.  Her teaching areas include Swahili oral and written literature, African philosophy and indigenous knowledge, literary theory and criticism, literature and global issues, environmental literature and eco-criticism, gender and literature in Africa, pre and postcolonial African literature, contemporary and indigenous Swahili literature, African women’s literature, teaching Swahili as a second language, digital literature and media, translation and literary presentation, history of east African literature, literature and culture, literature and cultural studies.
