DUCE HEET Project shows remarkable progress, reaches 75% completion

The National HEET Project Coordinator, Dr. Kennedy Hosea, visited DUCE on 10th February 2026. The site visit aimed to review the construction progress of the two buildings designated for Postgraduate Studies and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

DUCE honours outstanding performance in Chang’ombe Demonstration Primary School

Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) has reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence by recognising high-achieving pupils and teachers from its Chang’ombe Demonstration Primary School. 

On 30th January 2026, the College celebrated exceptional performance in the 2025 national examinations and standard four national assessment, commending dedication and hard work across the primary school levels. The event was graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Mabula Nkuba.

The College Principal extends a warm welcome to freshers

First-year students at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) were formally welcomed during Principal’s Day on 27th November 2025. The event aimed to orient new students to college life and expectations.

On that day, the Principal, Prof. Stephen Maluka, was accompanied by the deputy principals, deans, directors, and heads of departments from both academic and administrative units.

Kikwete decorates DUCE 18th graduation ceremony; Best students hail the government for funding

The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) commemorated the eighteenth graduation ceremony in style by producing 1,823 fresh graduates who are ready to storm the real world. This historic event was officiated by the former President and current Chancellor of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Dr Jakaya Kikwete.

HEET project brings major transformation to DUCE

The Principal of Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), Prof. Stephen Maluka, has commended the Sixth Phase Government led by Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for its efforts of improving the college’s infrastructure. 

He stated that through the HEET Project, the government is constructing two large buildings: the Postgraduate Studies Building and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Building.

DUCE hosts the 17th Nilo-Saharan Linguistics Colloquium

The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), through its Department of Languages and Literature, proudly hosted the 17th Nilo-Saharan Linguistics Colloquium (NISA)from 18th – 20th August 2025. The event brought together linguists and researchers across Africa, Europe and United States to share research findings and experiences on Nilo-Saharan languages.

DUCE showcases academic excellence and innovations at Sabasaba 2025

The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) actively participated in the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, held from 28th June to 13th July 2025 at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds. Guided by the theme "Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair: Pride of Tanzania," the event provided DUCE with a strategic platform to exhibit its academic programmes, innovations and community services.

DUCE hosts launching of the collaborative project on teacher education, wellbeing and retention

Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) in collaboration with other universities, has officially launched the project titled “Supporting Teacher Education, Wellbeing, and Retention via Informing Feasible Educational Policies and Incentives in Africa (STEP-EA)”. The launch event took place on the college premises on 6th June 2025.
