DUCE Researchers among Team Recognised for Patented Organic Waste Conversion Innovation

Researchers from the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) are among members of a multidisciplinary team that has been recognised for securing a patent for an innovative technology titled “Process for Converting Organic Waste into Protein, Oil, and Fertiliser Using Black Soldier Fly Larvae.”

Uniting to End Violence: DUCE and U-Matter Tanzania Announce MoU for Child Protection and Psycho-Social Wellbeing

The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) and U-Matter Tanzania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on ending violence and fostering psychological well-being across local and global communities on June 15, 2026.

Strengthening Global Academic Linkages: DUCE Explores Research, Grants, and Exchange Opportunities

As part of her engagement with the institution, Ms. Roseanna Avento, the Global Development Manager from the University of Eastern Finland, was warmly welcomed by the College Principal, Prof. Amani Lusekelo, at his office. During their meeting, Prof. Lusekelo introduced DUCE, elaborating on its role as a premier educational institution deeply involved in driving academic excellence and impactful research.

DUCE Hosts MUCE and Iringa Municipal Council Delegation on Benchmarking Visit

The Dar es Salaam University College of Education recently hosted a delegation from Mkwawa University College of Education and the Iringa Municipal Council during a benchmarking visit on 20th May 2026, aimed at learning about the management and operations of a demonstration school.

The visit focused on gaining practical insights into how DUCE runs its demonstration school as MUCE plans to establish a model school that will support teaching practice, educational research, innovation, and community engagement.

Parliamentary Committee applauds the College HEET project buildings; construction reaches 83%

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sports conducted a site visit at DUCE to inspect the construction project funded by the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project. The Committee, comprising 21 Members of Parliament, was led by its Chairperson, Hon. Husna Sekiboko.

DUCE HEET Project shows remarkable progress, reaches 75% completion

The National HEET Project Coordinator, Dr. Kennedy Hosea, visited DUCE on 10th February 2026. The site visit aimed to review the construction progress of the two buildings designated for Postgraduate Studies and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

DUCE honours outstanding performance in Chang’ombe Demonstration Primary School

Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) has reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence by recognising high-achieving pupils and teachers from its Chang’ombe Demonstration Primary School. 

On 30th January 2026, the College celebrated exceptional performance in the 2025 national examinations and standard four national assessment, commending dedication and hard work across the primary school levels. The event was graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Mabula Nkuba. 

HEET project brings major transformation to DUCE

The Principal of Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), Prof. Stephen Maluka, has commended the Sixth Phase Government led by Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for its efforts of improving the college’s infrastructure. 

He stated that through the HEET Project, the government is constructing two large buildings: the Postgraduate Studies Building and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Building.
