Biography

Dr John Kihamba is a Senior Lecturer in Public Administration and Public Policy with over 20 years of combined experience in academia, public service, and governance. Holder of a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam, with strong expertise in teaching, research, consultancy, and institutional leadership. Demonstrated competence in public sector governance, refugee and migration management, public finance, and organizational development.

Extensive experience in university teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervision and examination of MA and PhD dissertations, and participation in national and international research initiatives. Proven leadership through service as a Member of the Board of Directors of Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO), contributing to strategic planning, financial oversight, and executive performance review.

Former senior government official in refugee camp and settlement management with hands-on experience coordinating humanitarian operations and government institutions. Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, advanced data analysis competence, and excellent communication abilities. Fluent in English and Kiswahili, with working knowledge of French. Committed to advancing evidence-based public policy, good governance, and capacity building in public institutions.
