Biography

Mr. Hussein Kapuya is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health at Umeå University in Sweden, within the Department of Epidemiology and Global Health. 

He also serves as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History, Political Science, and Development Studies (DUCE), where he teaches several undergraduate courses, including Governance, Governmental Institutions and Political Participation, Democracy and Political Participation, Power and Power Relations, The Dominant Ideologies, Public Administration, Local Governments, Legislature and Legislative Processes, and Introduction to Public Policy.

His research focuses on public health management, particularly in the areas of social accountability, community participation, and health systems governance in low- and middle-income countries. He also has a keen interest in environmental policy and management.
