Dr. James Philbert Mpele is a lecturer in the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Mathematics within the Faculty of Science. He holds a PhD in Mathematics & Computational Science and Engineering. He studied his Bachelor of Science with Education at the University of Dar es Salaam, Masters in Applied Mathematics at the University of Nairobi and PhD at the Nelson Mandela Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). His teaching areas include Ordinary Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis and Complex Analysis. His research interests and scholarly work focus on Applied Mathematics.

Participated in Technical Assistance for the development of Textbooks, Teachers guides and Supplementary materials for the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MoEVT) of Zanzibar. A consultancy financed by Global Partnership for Education (GPE). In this consultancy; He was the Principal writer of Standard One Mathematics-Pupil’s Textbook & Teacher’s guide. The activity was done from November, 2022 to April, 2023.
