Dr. Sixberth Augustino Mlowe is a Senior Lecturer and Director for Postgraduate Studies at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), a Constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam. He completed PhD in Chemistry from the University of Zululand, South Africa in 2016. Dr. Mlowe was also awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at the same University under the mentorship of Prof. Neerish Revaprasadu. During his PhD and postdoctoral studies, Dr Mlowe visited The Manchester University, UK (2013-2014), University of Mumbai, India (2015) and Mahatma Gandhi University, India (2016). His research focuses on earth-abundant and critical materials, particularly metal chalcogenides synthesized via single-source precursors for energy generation, storage, and optoelectronic applications. He also explores the utilization of naturally occurring resources and agro-waste to develop functional materials for sustainable applications. Dr. Mlowe has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals, supervised postgraduate students, and collaborates with local and international research institutions. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Tanzanian Chemical Society, and the Materials Research Society.
