Ambokile Okey Mwarobona is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Science, at Dar es Salaam University College of Education, where he has been serving since 2016. He teaches undergraduate courses in computer programming, database systems, and related areas of computing and information technology.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2014) from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Master of Science in Information and Communication Science and Engineering (2019) from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. In 2023, he commenced his PhD studies in Information and Communication Science and Engineering at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology.
His research interests encompass Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Data Analytics using Python, and Information Systems Development. His doctoral research focuses on developing advanced deep learning models to identify individual lions from visual data, contributing to innovative approaches for wildlife monitoring, biodiversity conservation, and the application of artificial intelligence to ecological challenges. He is interested in designing intelligent, data-driven solutions that address real-world challenges across conservation, education, health, agriculture, and digital transformation.
