Dr Subilaga Mwakyusa Kejo is a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology and Curriculum Studies. She holds a PhD in Educational Studies (with specialty in Early Childhood Education) from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. She teaches curriculum courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Specifically, the courses she teaches include: principles of curriculum development and evaluation; Curriculum and Teaching; Curriculum Foundations and Theories; Curriculum Material Development and Use; Pedagogical Perspectives and Approaches; and Language and Literacy Education. Dr Kejo has been involved in developing, reviewing and evaluating curriculum and curriculum materials such as syllabus, textbooks and teacher guides for pre-primary and primary level as well as teacher education.
She has also been involved in different research and consultancy projects including:
Research on integrating STEM and Early Childhood Education funded by University of Dar Es salaam research fund.
Consultancy on evaluation of a project named Mwanzo mzuri aimed at improving provision of pre-primary education in Tanzania. The project was conducted by Hakielimu and it was funded by Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF).
Formative research on School-Based Learning through Play Positive Practices conducted by the PlayMatters Initiative and funded by the LEGO foundation and led by the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Consultancy on Technical assistance for development of textbooks, teachers guides and supplementary materials for the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training – Zanzibar.
