Dr. Avirt S. Lighuda is a lecturer in the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of the Dar es Salaam University College of Education. He holds a Ph.D in mathematics from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Dodoma, Tanzania. He teaches undergraduate/postgraduate mathematics courses (linear programming, mathematical statistics, ordinary differential equations, numerical analysis, partial differential equations, and linear algebra). His current research area is on mathematical physics, Modelling relativistic stellar objects in general relativity settings. His research interests include investigating the properties of matter variables in the interior of multi-layered objects in general relativity (Application of mathematics in physics).
