Biography

Rodrick Ndomba is a Senior Lecturer and the founder Head of the department of Languages and Literature at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). Syntactic theory and Bantu linguistics are his favorite areas of teaching and academic investigation. He is also the author and editor for reports, newsletters, and manuscripts. He has served as the examination moderator, internal examiner for UDSM, and External Examiner for other universities like MNMA, OUT, SAUT, and DIT in the past. He has been involved in writing and editing academic books with the Institute of Education (TIE) and Zanzibar Institute of Education (ZIE); the books wrote and or edited were for teaching English in Tanzanian Schools (primary and secondary – O’Level & A’Level). He also obtained a consultancy with UNESCO to do a survey on the challenges of teaching languages Teacher Educational colleges and was an assistant researcher in the UNICEF sponsored country survey on Out-of-School Children. Currently he is the assistant researcher in a consultancy with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MoVET) (Zanzibar) on mapping & development of rollout plan to strengthen delivery of adult and non-formal education in the formal education system in Zanzibar. He has published a book on teacher pedagogy and published several papers on language in education and syntactic theory in Kiswahili and Bantu languages.
