Biography

Dr. Almas Fortunatus Mazigo is a Senior Lecturer at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) of the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, with over 15 years of experience in academia, research, and consultancy. He holds a PhD in Applied Ethics, an MA in Development Studies, and a BA in Philosophy. He is the pioneer and coordinator of the Master of Arts in Development Evaluation (MADE) program, which prepares competent scholars and professionals in development evaluation. He contributes to the Made in Africa Evaluation (MAE) research agenda under the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA). He developed the Swahili Evaluation Approach, whose philosophy provides clear guidance on the what, why, and how of conducting development evaluations. His expertise spans participatory action research, development ethics, governance and corporate ethics, climate change and sustainability ethics, gender-responsive monitoring and evaluation, community-led social innovations, project management and implementation, ESG/SDGs integration and evaluation, and community-led monitoring and evaluation.
