Manchester City moved into second at the Women’s Super League after a 2-0 win against Reading, Although Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton.
As they maintained their 100 percent start to the year, pauline Bremer scored twice for City at Adams Park.
The Germany international put City ahead in the 30th minute with a strike and added another goal just before the hour after her first effort was blocked by goalkeeper Grace Moloney.
Bremer came near making it a hat-trick in the 73rd minute after her header struck a post.
City are just one of two groups to have so far enrolled two wins from two matches.
Chloe Kelly netted a brace in this game, two stunning right-footed efforts coming in rapid succession after the interval, and she was denied a treble from the magician, sending an additional nice strike against the crossbar to move.
Chelsea are third with four points after drawing 1-1 to Adelina Engman’s late equaliser at thanks.
Engman fired in from close range in stoppage time to cancel out Aileen Whelan’s 84th-minute campaign for the hosts.
Elsewhere, Tottenham acquired their WSL target and points as Rachel Furness’ first-half penalty secured a 1-0 home win against Liverpool, who had Niamh Fahey sent off after the fracture.
And West Ham conquered Birmingham 1-0 at home courtesy of an Adriana Leon attack.
Reigning Women’s Super League champions Arsenal will take on Manchester United on Monday.
